To answer Dominiques question about the Doolittle Raider, CP on Crew 9, the Whirling Dervish off the Hornet! Major James M Parker, Jr. returned to the ZI and went back to his own Group. The 17th BG, the 34th BS and retrained in B-26s. Capt. Parker went with the COMBAT 17th BG and flew Combat Missions out of North Africa from Algeria and Tunisia in the 34th BS from Dec. 1942 until Oct. 1943. when he returned to the ZI. HIS TIME: U.S. Army (USAAC, USAAF) 1940-1947 U.S. Air Force Reserve 1947-1974 World War II 1941-1945 Cold War 1945-1974 Decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Chinese Army, Navy, and Air Corps Medal, Class A, 1st Grade. Inducted Texas Aviation Hall of Fame, Galveston, TX LTC James Monroe Parker, Jr. passed 19 June, 1991 in Texas. Oct. 1943 is when the 57th started flying Combat from the mainland of Italy so THIS James Parker is not the same one as on Corsica with the 319th BG. Keep up the great work! Thank you also John Tokaz :) Blessings, Barbi
