To answer a few questions that I have received YES there is a difference in being diagnosed with asperges & being diagnosed as autistic. these disabilities R labeled as autism spectrum disorders but r VERY different& yes there are several more under this umbrella hence the word spectrum. although asperges is still a form of autism.. again so very much different than autistic. & yes females w/high functioning asperges like mackenzie unfortunately do seem to fly just under the radar until a much later time than boys, & YES some do like to be touched, hugged and r affectionate and can carry on for the most part as what some like to say normal & no very seldom do they also have dyslexica, unfortunately in our case mackenzie suffers form all three areas of dyslexica but the awesome thing is.. she is extremely intelligent and out of this world artistically inclined. And to answer your other question YES signs and symptoms of girls w/asperges is very different and unfortunately is not usually diagnosed until a much later age than boys. Sooo for those of u & u no who Im talking to... hope this helps. If I can do n e thing else let me no.
