To any Black, Brown, Red or Yellow Law Officers Who is Willing - TopicsExpress

To any Black, Brown, Red or Yellow Law Officers Who is Willing Advise . . . I had grand jury duty most of the first quarter of 2013. My first time. I quickly figured out that our job as jurors was to back up Law Enforcement by rubber-stamping as many of the prosecutions cases as possible. Reading and discussing Case Law with assistant prosecutors, and listening to Officers who took the time to show up justify their actions related to protecting and serving. I also learned quickly, as the only Black person serving on the 12 person jury, none of my fellow jurors cared to question any of what was being presented to us. Questions only slow down the Rubber-Stamping process. Anyway, I played along to the extent that my conscience would allow and was out voted a few times 11 to 1. My apologies to anyone that we should have advocated more for. The point is . . I feel I did my best to supported the system as much as I could in good conscience. Heres my question . . to any of you fair minded minority officers currently serving who have teenaged black and/or brown children . . As you know our children are now rightfully fear the Police like the rest of us. Knowing what we now all know about some of your members lethal assault policing tactics . . . What should we // do you tell your own teenaged daughters or sons to do now in the event they get signalled pulled over, or are detained without explanation by one of the more Profile Aggressive Public Servants in your organization??? Please keep in mind that most of us are literally in fear for their lives. Thank You in Advance for your comments and advice. ~gdh
