To anyone 40 years old or younger, please ponder this for a moment. Only 59 YEARS AGO, buses were segregated. There was a colored area and then an area for Whites. Imagine that. Not 500 years ago. Not 200 years ago. 59 years ago. Hell, there are people you know who were alive back then. Youre reading a posting from someone who was alive back then. And I remember it well. This magnificent woman, who was simply too tired to move, decided not to. Rosa Parks. You remember that name. Especially all of you white people who think there is no such thing as White Privilege. Rosa Parks stirred the Nations collective soul and enough of us decided that separate but equal was NOT. Her simple act of non-violent defiance set the stage for a moral change in our society. To Ms. Rosa Parks: Ive IDOLIZED you from the time I was a mere child. Its now MY turn to take the responsibility for carrying on the fight. For the fight was never won; it was just the first rounds. NO one has civil rights until ALL PEOPLE have EQUAL RIGHTS. I have pledged my remaining years to fighting against injustice and continuing the work of All American Heros like Rosa Parks. I want ALL of my generation to join. There is no force that can stop us. NONE.
