To be a department that says we dont go offensive or we dont go on the roof is nothing but a combination of things. Fear, lack of training, lack of understanding, lack of commitment, and a lack of a grip on fire behavior. This is obviously a weakness if that is your departments stance, so why not train on it and become proficient? This week I learned you cant ignore science, use science to help you fight your fires, quit making excuses.
