To be hungry can become an intense desire when one has been without food. A person who is truly hungry will do anything to ease the pain of hunger, it can be a very strong motivation. The mark of a true believer is this intense desire, hungering and thirsting for God, a strong passion to pursue His righteousness. God gives freely His heavenly manna for all who desire to partake. God says those who hunger for righteousness will receive it. A longing for God must supersede all other desires, as this spiritual hunger, will bring us closer to the Father. A burning desire to be more like Christ. As the human body needs food to function so our souls need spiritual food from the Words of God and only through Jesus Christ will this need be satisfied. Our souls long for His loving presence, and it is a need that will keep our spirits alive, we need the Bread of Life and we need the Living Water. My dear friends We wont have a hungering and thirsting for the righteousness which was lost in the garden of Eden, until we confess our sins before God and recognize that the only way to be fed spiritually is to come to know intimately our Lord and Savior. The gratification of worldly pleasures and worldly fame are nothing that can fill the void in our hearts, there is only one way fallen man can obtain this and it is through meekness before God. Until the old man of sin has been crucified, we will never put the Lord or our fellow man ahead of ourselves; we will not understand what it means to hunger and thirst after righteousness. Heavenly Father, my soul is parched and I’m so hungry without the spiritual food You so desire to give me. Take away the desires of the flesh and renew my heart unto you. I confess here that I am a sinner and I am so unworthy of your love, but you in your love gave me a new life in you. Help me Father to be always hunger for your Word and for your love, direct me always in complete obedience to you. Amen! Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Psalm 42:1-2 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is Be Blessed My Friends
