To be locked within a single myth limits growth of the self and, thus, the human race. A fanatical owning of such a singularity stultifies the imagination and closes the mind. It builds boundaries which lead to bigotry. The great myth makers never intend their stories to segregate or divide. Rather, they are meant to both deepen and broaden humanitys ability to coexist across permeable differences such as color or culture. If we, the human race, could ever embrace the power of our diverse myths to unite, instead of using them to divide in order to justify greed and selfish aspirations, then we would finally know peace and finally realize our fullest potential.
