To be or not to be This is my first time confessing. So I hope - TopicsExpress

To be or not to be This is my first time confessing. So I hope I get a descent response. A while ago, students were demonstrating regarding the other fees issue in the CASAA Caf. While I enjoyed and admired the jingle (which was catchy by the way), I cant help but feel sorry for those trying their absolute hardest to bring attention to the issue. Student leaders, dont get me wrong, your fighting spirit is admirable, standing up for the studentry is serious business. But I hate to say that these efforts are futile. I might get a lot of haters for this post, but sorry, this is the reality. I have known quite a few leftist Isko and Iska who went to the extreme, and where are they now? Either in jail or buried six-feet under. Along with their dreams of affecting and causing change in the society. I am not dampening anyones fighting spirit, nor am I influencing some others to give up coz thats stupid right? Sinong student leader ba ang susuko sa labang ito? If not you, who would stand up and stop the silence of the gagged? What I am trying to say is, be more practical in spreading your cause. What would you have done to make offer an alternative to the issue? If you want to further any ideals and principles, isnt action better than words? I know whats going on through your mind right now, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Exactly, because majority is apathetic to these things. Petitions, yes, thats one way. Letting the government hear what we want, thats cute, for them at least. Dont forget, we are running a student government here. We are nothing but juvenile brats who go to the streets to get what we want. Yes, we live in a democratic country, and freedom of expression and all that sh*t, but what have we done so far? Id rather you go and volunteer to a reach out programs, volunteer programs and the like, rather than educating our generation of how f*cked up the current administration is. Rather than plotting how to criticize and attack the government, why dont we start coming up with genuine programs to help the students, or society at large for that matter. This wouldnt matter in real life. When you grow old and eventually die, would you be counting how signatures you got? I feel deeply with you guys, because I was once a student leader, and now I am a teacher trying to affect peoples lives practically. Teaching them to appreciate and actually do something for the society and not just hate on the government. Kanya-kanya tayo ng paniniwala at prinsipyo sa buhay. Lets be PROGRESSIVE in the true essence of the world. Pwede ka nang mag-scroll down ate/kuya. alias Mantika,2012,Social Sciences and Philosophy
