To be well composed in and with the Lord! This is the perfect - TopicsExpress

To be well composed in and with the Lord! This is the perfect place and position of the child of God. It is the having done all prior to and along the way up to this point. In the natural, this could be crudely compared to an elite athlete preparing for the championship game having done all prior to the game over many years of self sacrifice, self discipline, exercise, training, studying and more. They do this for perishable glories and prizes but ours is of great benefit both for now and eternally. For the spiritual man this means that over a period of years he has not only read the word and prayed daily, but he has earnestly sought out to lose his soul life, that he might nullify the natural flesh with its natural relationship with the world so that his heart and soul may become purged of all that is of the elements of the laws of sin and of death that he might now abide in and with the greater law of the Spirit of life. Daily, such a one bears his cross for the gaining of Christ and begins to practice the exercise of his spirit. He keeps a clear conscience before both God and men and keeps his heart single and clear for the Lord for light, fellowship, prayer, power and guidance. Then, having done all, he finds himself well composed before the Lord and in the best position and place possible for service, growing and fighting the good fight of faith in every way. He is fully armored and equipped, healthy, strong, experienced, and composed in heart and soul...ready to go! Such a person has learned the secret to which Paul described as I can do all things through Christ who supplies my strength. This, because it is no longer I who lives but Christ in me. This place of composure in the Lord of which Paul speaks, even today is neither, easy, automatic, casual or a half way endeavor. It is one of absolute devotion and resolve requiring all to gain all. It is one of perpetual motion so that any lapse in the daily disciplines will not only break fellowship, power and all but it will cause one to double down just to get back to where he had left off. It is like the motion of a large, powerful train. It takes tremendous power and some time to get up to speed but once it has reached its cruising speed, it is well composed and requires little effort to maintain. If it is stopped or substantially slowed at some point, it will be forced to once again power up and strain itself to full power to reach its normal cruising speed and composure! Odd how the world today has become so highly specialized so that we have training for so many things. Even in building a house there are multiple trades that require several years to master. It took me personally about 4 years to master roofing and that was for only one specific roofing system! If it requires all this to master a trade or a profession, what does it require to become adept in the walk in spirit? Is it no wonder then, that so many remain in the wilderness journey of the soul life rather than fully engaging themselves in that walk of faith to enter the promised land of the walk in spirit, when there is no real and formal means of training and exercising? Can we think it is enough to run the race towards spiritual maturity if it is half hearted, casual and merely a part time endeavor? Should we expect more when a person has no real and systematic training on a daily basis? How can one hope to overcome when 98% of his time, thoughts, devotions and energies are spent in the natural as opposed to the spiritual? But what does God say about this? He says you are robbing Me. Bring the whole tithe (of yourself) into My storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me in this...if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing until it OVERFLOWS. Malachi 4:8_12. This scripture is speaking not of worldly things, but of spiritual!!! This is speaking of the blessings of that deep well of water rising up within your own spirit till it overflows! But he who keeps his soul life in the world shall lose it but he who willingly loses it in all humility before the Lord shall gain it and keep it to ETERNAL LIFE in the Son! I wish we had spiritual training centers and established mentors in every location but since we do not, we must do as we can on our own in large part. The Spirit of truth lead us all into all truth for the walk in spirit in power!
