To begin a study on the calendar of Elohim, we must turn to the beginning of the Bible. In the book of Genesis, Yahuwah gives us foundational Truth from which we could begin to understand the subject of His calendar. •Notice what is stated in Genesis 1:14: • •“And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” (Gen.1:14). • •Only fourteen verses into the first book of the Bible, and the Father already begins talking about His calendar. This should demonstrate the importance of this topic! In this verse, HE communicates a tremendous amount of wisdom and instruction that His people have overlooked for centuries. It is time that Elohim’s people begin giving the details of this subject serious consideration! Notice that in this verse we are told that “the lights in the firmament” are there to divide the day from the night. •However, we are also told that they are there for: • •(1) signs •(2) seasons •(3) days •(4) years •The lights in the firmament are there for signs and seasons! •As we take a close look at both of the words “signs” and “seasons”, we will realize that through them the Father communicates an extremely important message. This early part of the study sheds a lot of light, and gives much deeper understanding on a subject which his people have largely ignored over the years. As a result, a gross error has crept into the children of Yahuwah on this subject of the calendar. Satan has done quite a job of blinding mankind, and even people within both the House of Judah and the House of Isreal (Ephriam or the Nations of the Gentiles), by corrupting Yahuwah’s calendar to the core! Let us first of all understand what the Father means when He states that “the lights in the firmament” are there “for signs”. Specifically, what are the “signs” that HE is referring to in Genesis 1:14? Scripture clearly reveals the answer to this question. •Notice what is stated in Exodus 31:13-17: • •“Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my SABBATHS ye shall keep: for IT IS A SIGN between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Yahuwah that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the SABBATH therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the SABBATH of rest, Qodesh to Yahuwah: whosoever doeth any work in the SABBATH day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the SABBATH, to observe the SABBATH throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. IT IS A SIGN between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yahuwah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.(Exodus 31:13-17) •SABBATH = A SIGN • •In no uncertain terms, through Exodus 31:13-17, Elohim tells us that the WEEKLY SABBATH IS A SIGN! This is made very clear! He also clearly communicates this fact in other scriptures. •Notice: • •“Moreover also I gave them MY SABBATHS (H7676), to be A SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahuah that sanctify them” (Ezek. 20:12) “And hallow my SABBATHS (H7676); and they shall be A SIGN between me and you, that ye may know that I am Yahuwah your Elohim” •(Ezek. 20:20). •SABBATH = 7676 in Strong’s = SPECIFICALLY THE SABBATH The Hebrew word “Shabbath” is translated “Sabbath” in the above verses. This word is specifically referring to the 7th day, weekly Sabbath! The Father clearly tells us that the SEVENTH DAY SABBATH IS A SIGN! •With this Truth in mind, let us notice the wording in Genesis 1:14 once again: • •“And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven…let them be for signs…” (Genesis 1:14) • •Scripture clearly tells us that the weekly Sabbath day is a sign (Ex. 31:13-17). Therefore, the above verse should perhaps be more accurately translated as: • •…Let there be lights in the firmament…for the weekly Sabbaths [signs]… •From the evidence we have already seen, it is clear that through scripture the Father is telling us that the lights in the firmament are there to make known HIS true weekly Sabbath day! Do we understand what He is communicating?! HE is telling us that the lights in the firmament of heaven are there to communicate to us when to keep His weekly Sabbath day! The Father has set in motion lights in the firmament of heaven, so that we could keep track of the weekly Sabbath. This is currently not being done by most Sabbath keepers! Some Sabbath keepers follow the Sunday Sabbath as it lands on the Gregorian calendar, and not as it is determined by the lights of the firmament! However some Sabbath keepers are using the Moon (which is not a light and we will get into later) to determine the weekly Sabbath. This topic is very serious, and urgent, indeed. The Father is communicating something of huge importance, and His people had better take heed! •Let us continue to study Genesis 1:14: • •“And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven…for seasons(H4150) …” (Genesis 1:14) • •Here we see that the lights in the firmament are also there for “seasons”. The word “season” is 4150 in Strong’s and is translated from the Hebrew word “Moed” and means “festival, assembly, appointed time…”. •Keep that Hebrew word in mind as we proceed with this study in Leviticus 23: • •“And Yahuwah spake unto Mosche (Moses), saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts (Moeds = 4150 = appointed times, festivals) of Yahuwah, which ye shall proclaim to be Qodesh convocations, even these are my feasts H4150. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an Qodesh convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yahuwah in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of Yahuwah, even Qodesh convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is YAHUWAH’s Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yahuwah: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread…” (Lev. 23:1-6). •The remainder of Leviticus 23 continues to define and list all of the Father’s seasons (Feasts/“Moeds”) including the Feasts of Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles. This shows us that the lights in the firmament are there to reveal the dates of when we are to keep Elohim’s Feast days as well. Leviticus 23:3 proves that Elohim also assigns His Sabbath day as a Feast (Moed) day. Very clearly, Genesis 1:14 communicates that the lights in the firmament are to determine when His weekly Sabbaths and Feast days are to be kept. Weekly Sabbaths are signs, and weekly/annual Sabbaths are seasons (or Feasts/Moeds) – so says the Word of Yahuwah! •Interestingly, most Sabbath keepers currently keep the annual Feast days according to a calendar ruled by the rotation of the moon but, curiously, some do not keep the weekly Sabbath according to this system. Why not? Why allow the rotation of the moon to determine the annual Sabbaths and not the weekly Sabbath? Does the Father’s Word not clearly tell us that the “lights in the firmament” are there for signs and seasons (weekly Sabbath and annual Feasts)? Why is one calendar used to calculate Elohim’s Feast days, while the weekly Sabbath day is kept according to a completely independent cycle according to the Gregorian calendar by most of the Jewish Assemblies? Why are the annual Feast days, and the weekly Sabbath day, not calculated using one and the same calendar? We must keep in mind that Genesis 1:14 tells us that the lights in the firmament are there for “signs” (Sabbaths) and seasons” (Feasts/Seasons) and “for days and years”; they tell us when a day begins and ends and when a year begins and ends. (More on this later). At this early stage of the study, it should already be obvious that the Father has ONE calendar to determine His Feast days including the weekly Sabbath days! The firmaments in the heaven are there for signs (weekly Sabbaths) and for seasons (Feasts)! The Father has one calendar that determines both the weekly Sabbaths and the annual Feast days – and His calendar is determined by the lights of the firmament. His people must deeply study this subject, and pray that He reveals His True calendar. •His people must repent from the error of their ways caused by an evil, conniving, spiteful, deceiving, lying, manipulative and rebellious adversary, Satan the Devil! Satan has cunningly “changed times and laws” as prophesied in Daniel 7:25! • •And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Daniel 7:25) • •Now is the time to wake up and be counted!
