To call this good, would be an understatement. Among the trove of films in Doghouse73 Picturess library, this one is at the top of my list. It has the formulas and tropes that I personally appreciate. Aside from satiating my bias toward heavy asian drama, Its a ghost story, but not a horror one, and I actually dig that. Theres wonderful simplicity with extremely complex themes. There are good shots. Theres minimal, essential dialogue; emphasis on character performance and facial expression, and a satisfying degree of subtlety, while employing controversial themes in an extremely tasteful manner, and in a way that few local films dare to walk. The final scene before the credits leaves a very lasting impression, and bound to cause further discussion on its meaning and impact on the rest of the film.
