To claim for an accident that occurred in your hotel, you do not - TopicsExpress

To claim for an accident that occurred in your hotel, you do not have to be on an all-inclusive holiday. You right under UK law to claim compensation does not change even though you are in another country. If you have booked your holiday through an English Tour Operator and have suffered an accident/injury, you are able to make a claim under British Law against your tour operator. You can claim for many types of accidents such as: Slips and Trips – Many hotels in countries abroad use marble or smooth surfaces and whilst these may look good if excess liquid is left from cleaners or unmaintained drains leak onto the surface, the chance of injury becomes very high. When floors are slippery they pose a health and safety issue, therefore wet floor signs must be displayed to reduce the risk of injury. Pool Side Accidents - Accidents like this can be caused by broken tiles or loose drainage covers. If you have suffered an injury in a pool that could have been prevented with better care and attention, give our office a call and see if we can help. Hotel Accommodation - This can be faulty furniture, bad electrics or even poor bathroom facilities that have caused injury to you or others travelling with you. Restaurant Accidents - Most common accidents occur as a result of spills left unattended where guests can later slip and fall, possibly with hot food in their hand causing further injury. Other common accidents are burns from badly arranged cooking facilities or scalding from spills during service, broken glass left behind by another guest unnoticed by staff and even miscellaneous objects in the food causing an injury orally. Tip: - Take photos or videos of any dangers around your hotel, this will not only support your claim but if reported and rectified will also prevent other people from being injured at the resort. If you have been in an accident abroad and feel it could have been prevented, please call our office on 01625 253020.
