To commemorate 118 years of birth anniversary of Dr Salim Ali, Bird man of India with following I shall like to pay my humble tributes: - Dr Salim Ali visited Forest Research Institute [in erstwhile Doon School], Dehradun for the first time in 1925. - From 1935- 1939 he remained in Doon valley birding intensively around. Returned to Mumbai after the death of his wife after a minor surgery - His first bird of great curiosity was yellow throated sparrow which he shot by his toy gun when he was 10 years of age. During 1980s when I started my past time recreation with birdwatching and sending observational notes on birds of NE India to DrZafar Futehally, his distant cousin, two of my articles reached in hands of Dr Salim Ali for vetting on observation on birds of Burnihat valley, Assam/ Meghalaya and another one on Behaviour of birds during solar eclipse in 1980 . Later published in Newsletter on Birds from Banglaore........ Dr Sas. Biswas
