To commemorate the Gallipoli landings of the Irish Regiments, An Post will issue a stamp in April. It was on 25th April that the 1st Bn Royal Dublin and 1st Bn Royal Munster Fusiliers of the 29th Division landed at Cape Helles at the tip of the peninsula. In fact all of the Irish Infantry Regiments took part in the Gallipoli Campaign: the 10th(Irish) Division landed at Suvla Bay in early August and all of the Irish Infantry Regiments, except the Irish Guards, were in that division. In all, more than 4,400 Irish perished in that ill fated campaign. Let Erin Remember Them with pride, As for her freedom, They too died
