To convince another is just a way of forcing change. When a person convinces somebody else, what that person is doing is manipulating language and communication to invoke a desired reaction. Its the same as attempting to reprogram a person. It is saying, There is something wrong with you. You are deficient, and you need to be fixed. We are not here to convince, convert, or persuade others. We are here to inspire each other in the same way that music inspires people. Music doesnt have to convince or persuade, it simply moves those that resonate with it. One who fixes their music to gain the approval of an audience no longer has that quality of honesty in their sound. Im sure plenty can name a band or two that have done this, and often some of us would call them sell outs. Many say That band was better before they sold out. This is because they have tried to fix something that was not broken. It was not created to appease the opinion of others. It was created to be enjoyed by the creator and all who receive it. It was created to inspire and move those that naturally resonate with it. This is how I understand life should be. This is why I live to inspire and be inspired. Honesty is the best policy. :)
