To day 22 October 2013 is a very special day at our office because this afternoon we are having a very special presentation where we will celebrate the 100th birthdays of two of our members: Sgt William Joseph Mitchell, of Shirley, Christchurch born 10/04/1913. Service No: 39639. RNZAF, 10 S.U. Served 21.9.1939 to 21.9.1945. Served in the Pacific. Cpl Charles Douglas Thorn, born 04/06/1913. Service No: 27559. NZ Army, 16th Railway Operating, 5th Field Park. Served 26/06/1940 to 1945 in the Middle East & Italy. Congratulation to both of you on achieving your centennial year and thank you for your loyal service to your country and your comrades.
