To determine if a Bhava is strong, all these three should be strong :- 1) Lord of the Bhava 2) The Bhava Karak 3) The Bhava itself. For example to know if one can buy Property in his Life, or Not , one should check the Lord of the 4th House (Must be well placed, not conjunct with a malefic, not aspected with a Malefic.) The Karak of Property - Mars (Bhoomi karak) should be strong, and the 4th House must not contain any Malefic nor be aspected by any malefic.
