To ditch potential grooms Part 135 Did he tell you that? - TopicsExpress

To ditch potential grooms Part 135 Did he tell you that? Shaks asked after he recovered from his earlier shock. He doesnt need to besides I dont even think he realises he is in love with her yet. You know Suhail hates emotional attachments. He would run a mile to avoid anything closely resembling a proper relationship. I replied. I continued, I dont know whether its a blessing or a curse that they are leaving this afternoon. He gave me a long hard look and said that we should be grateful that Suhail hasnt pursued Naseera and be happy she would be far away from him. We both were well aware of Suhails track history and given a chance Naseera would succumb quite easily to my brothers charms. As it is she appeared quite taken by him and wasnt very ecstatic at returning home later on. We should get out of the sun. We already look like over ripe tomatoes Shaks said to me to lighten the mood a little. I was sure I was going to regret sitting so long in the sun later but at least my sunburn was going to keep my mind of other things such as Asifs departure. Lunch was a sombre meal as we all knew in a few short hours we would feel the absence of the Khan family. Asif and I took of on our own after lunch to have a quiet talk. I was adamant I was not going to shed a tear. He had a small package in his hand that was gift wrapped. Oh no. He bought me a gift and I didnt even think about buying him one. He turned to me and halted me when we were a safe distance from the cottage. He smiled as he handed me the gift. This is for you. I bought it a while ago. It was meant to be given to you when your results come out, so be a good girl and open it only after you get your results he said. You really didnt have to buy me anything you know I said smiling at him with eyes full of love. I know but I wanted to. I am really going to miss you Shazia. This incredible week we spent together will be the only thing keeping me sane until I see you again he said. I forced back a sob that was threatening to present itself and thanked him for the present. He enveloped me in a huge hug and then in broad daylight brought his lips crushing down on mine and I felt all his love, passion and pain at parting poured into that one last bittersweet kiss. The sun was beginning to set on the horizon as Asif and Shaks packed away the last bit of luggage into the vehicle. Hugs and kisses, thanks and promises, were exchanged all around. Asifs parents extended an invitation to my family and I to visit anytime we were in their town. Asif extracted a promise from me to call when I got my results and not to open the gift until then. A single tear slid down my cheek as I hugged him goodbye and I quickly wiped it away. Shaks came close to me and put his arm on my shoulder to comfort me as we waved goodbye to them as the vehicle slowly drove off. To be continued...
