To everyone from the mid-west to the California coast, we hope you are ok. Stay safe, dont go out unless you absolutely have to and if you are able, seek out senior citizens, sick or weak folks that cannot fend for themselves, cannot get any food, water etc. You may be able to kick start a generator fine but can your 90 yr old neighbor? Can they get a fire going in the wood stove? Do they know how to cook without electricity? If they have a propane stove, you can cook no problem but many may not know how to light the stove without the igniter. Please consider stepping out of your comfort zone, dress VERY warm, carry a back pack of supplies, ensure your cellphone is charged in case you need to call for help and lastly ~ ensure at least one person knows the route you will take and an estimate of when they will retirn Please reach out, you just might save a life...
