To everyone saying how the public shouldnt be involved in cases of domestic violence because think of the children, lemme share my POV. Im a child of an abusive household. Ive never hidden that. And my biological father functioned in a realm of secrecy in his violence. I witnessed my mother get beaten. I witnessed my sister get beaten. I witnessed my brother get beaten. I endured beatings from the age of 3-14. My family will NEVER see justice over what happened. I WISH the public got involved. But everyone turned a blind eye - my mother country of Korea failed us, the US military system failed us, the church failed us. Im not speaking for all victims of domestic violence, Im speaking for me. But when the statistical NORM in this country (let alone this world) is that children and families are subjected to some form of domestic abuse, yeah, we gotta get this shit out in the open. Truth isnt pretty, easy or even comfortable, but thats why its got so much value. Things ARE changing, thank goodness, but its at a snails pace. The system is still stacked against the victims. And if you are experiencing abuse, please reach out to someone who can help. Most people WANT to help. Find an organization, a safe haven. And stay safe out there.
