To everyone who prayed for me last week after my wreck, thank you so much. I have felt your prayers. Im feeling much better now. I praise God for sparing my life. Despite the terror of it all, though, it has been a much needed slap in the face reminding me that Im not guaranteed tomorrow. So many times I have said these words without believing them in my heart. Its crazy that we make all these plans thinking our lives are invincible when we know they are not. Last week put that in perspective for me. We need to have joy and live for God today instead of counting on tomorrow. Including myself. Thanks be to God for allowing me to have today. Now listen, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. (James 4:13-16) Forgive me Lord for boasting in my own schemes. And thanks for the slap in the face:)
