To finish the day more of the same: GCR was having one hour off in the busiest of weeks and a lady contacted us that some terribly fluey sick kittens were screaming for help from an area she was passing, These little ones are barely 2/3 weeks old and are really helpless. We are not in any position to take in kittens but neither are we in a position to allow suffering. They were kindly treated with care and compassion by Vet Riona Mac Eoin at Briarhill Clinic at ten to closing time. She didnt make us feel a nuisance even tho the clinic is heaving with our TNR patients and sick foster kittens. Every eye got cleaned and antibiotic injections were administered and a call of mercy made to the long suffering mighty Caroline Gorton who agreed to bottle feed them for the weekend, Its two boys and two girls. Whether they can make it is anyones guess but it wont be from lack of kindness and effort on the part of GCR and its super support network.
