To fix a broken zip, try these methods. If the zip teeth have come apart below the head, slowly work the head back down to the base by holding the two sides taut. You can make this easier by rubbing on Vaseline, dishwashing liquid or olive oil. If fabric has become caught in the zip, don’t pull it too hard as you may end up ripping the material. A good idea is to rub the zipper and material with a dry bar of soap and to gradually ease the fabric from out between the teeth. Make sure the soap doesn’t contain any chemicals that could harm the material
