To friends and those who knew Harold “Tad” Mann, It is with - TopicsExpress

To friends and those who knew Harold “Tad” Mann, It is with the deepest sadness and regret that I must inform everyone that my good friend and fellow Vietnam combat Vet, Harold “Tad” Mann, pass through this life to be with our Lord around 1500 hrs, Saturday 22 November 2014 at Summerlin Hospital. My prayers and blessing go to his family, especially to his dedicated and loving wife, Pamela, who was at his side during every minute while he was fighting to remain with us. I knew Tad for many years. We become “brothers” when we discovered that we traversed the same paths in Vietnam but 3 years apart. Tad was a METRO Volunteer for many years, served gallantly with REACT and more currently with the Fusion Center at Headquarters Building. I had the pleasure visiting with him on many occasions whenever I was on duty as he was departing the Fusion Center. Tad always took the time to stop so we can tell “Tad and Barry” stories. Though I am deeply saddened because I will miss Tad, I am grateful to know that he is with God and at peace. I will always bless the moments I had with him in the hospital, particularly when they took him off life support last weekend and he was cognizant of those around him. When Pamela asked him if he knew who I was, he responded, “Yes, that’s my buddy Barry!” We physically lost a hero today but his spirit and our memories of Tad will remain until our Lord calls us home also. As of this posting, the “final arrangements” have not been made by Pamela but I am honored and humbled to announce that Tad asked me to say a “few words”. I will notify Sharon Harding when those plans are finalized. Please pray for Tad and Pamela as I am and will continue to do so. Sr. Chaplain Barry A. Mainardi
