To future guests and members of our community: Recent news about the El Portal fire located primarily outside Yosemite National Park has portrayed the fire as much larger and more impactful than it truly is. We would like to reduce any concerns you may have and assure you that you will be able to visit the Park. The area is safe and conditions continue to improve as this wildfire comes under containment, posing no threat of interference with visits to Tenaya Lodge or Yosemite. Currently, all roads and entrances into Yosemite National Park are operating normally including Tioga Pass (Hwy 120). The fire is actually more than 40 miles, or 1.5 hours, away from Tenaya Lodge and nearly 60% contained. Air quality is moderate to good, depending on the time of day. If there is smoke, it is usually more prominent in the morning and evening when the air cools. The smoke then clears during the day as heat rises. Visibility in the park has been clear and mostly smoke-free. Tenaya Lodge is 100% confident and guarantees your ability to access to Yosemite National Park.
