To galvanize people into taking action beyond the Earth Hour, the Cebu City Council during its regular session last March 26, 2014, approved the resolution of Alvin Dizon urging all business establishments operating in the City of Cebu to study and initiate simple and doable measures within their respective establishments aimed at conserving energy; and requesting all Barangay Officials to initiate information dissemination campaigns in their respective areas to teach people of simple ways on how they can help conserve energy such as using compact fluorescent light bulbs, unplugging any chargers or power adapters when not in use, turning off equipment during long periods of non-use, regularly cleaning the air-conditioner filters, and others. ----- “Remember that Earth Hour is no mere 60-minute switch-off.
