To have the gift of prophecy is to speak truth to power when it matters. It was 1967 ---three years before the Pentagon Papers--and there was Martin Luther King speaking of the atrocities we were committing in Viet Nam and asking those that followed the teaching of Jesus of Nazareth to seek Conscientious Objector status---I believe it was this speech (a portion of which I will link here and then in the first comment link the entire 10 minute speech) that was the primary reason he was assassinated. Civil Rights were broadly understood inevitable and only just (well except certain religious leaders I will not mention here that opposed it)--- but to renounce our war narrative and call for Conscientious Objection was treasonable to the powers that be.
