To help a group of American children with life threatening illnesses forget about hospitals, tests and visits to doctors, a flight was organised to help them pay a visit to Santa at the North Pole! Taking a supersonic trip from Detroit Metro Airport and back to a specially decorated area of the same airport, the children were able to meet Santa and were showered with presents and other goodies by elves and his helpers. Running for 29 years, the trip has brought hundreds of children the joy of Christmas from outside hospital walls.
