To instill positive attitudes and bolster personal development, Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC) organized a three-day values formation seminar to twenty-six (26) residents of its host communities at Brgy. Talavera, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte on September 22 to 24, 2014. The participants, who hailed from the barangay Talavera and sitio Bagong Silang and Campandan, belonged to HMC-supported people’s organizations (POs) and technical-vocational scholars. These individuals are beneficiaries under the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of the company through its livelihood and scholarship projects. The three-day seminar, facilitated by the REACH Foundation Inc., was filled with lectures, written exercises, team building games and reflections from the participants. Topics include discussions on leadership, accountability and responsibility, sustainable development, and gender sensitivity. Ms. Florecil Rebulos expressed her gratitude to HMC and the facilitators for the conduct of such activity that made an impact to her life and molded her to become a better person. On the other hand, Mrs. Rosalina Montañez also thanked the company and REACH Foundation for the wonderful three-day experience and the knowledge and insights imparted by the speakers. She also mentioned that HMC has given her hope and aspiration with her two children being assisted by the company as technical-vocational scholars. “I’m very thankful that TESDA came here and HMC brought opportunities to us especially jobs,” Montañez said as she delivered her impressions of the training during the closing ceremony. #NACcares #HMC #ValuesFormationInstillPositiveAttitudeandBolsterPersonalDevelopment
