To introduce its new dark roast coffee blend, Canadian casual restaurant Tim Hortons decided to play a little prank on its customers. Called the ‘TimsDark Experiment’, the brand completely ‘blacked out’ one of its stores in Canada. Intrigued by the sight, customers who ventured into the store were also surprised to find it completely dark. Completely blind, they were led to a counter where they were served a cup of the dark roast coffee, and the prank was revealed to them. According to Tim Hortons, it wanted to take away customers’ sense of sight in order to “supercharge their sense of taste”.
