To keep this as short as I can--I work with a military support - TopicsExpress

To keep this as short as I can--I work with a military support organization. I handle the assignments of military personnel to volunteers who adopt them while they are deployed. The members of the military and volunteers are from all over the country. I recently had a volunteer ask to adopt a soldier and his family back home. There was a family on the list that I could have easily assigned but a different family technically emailed me first. I try to keep it first come first served unless there are extenuating circumstances. That wife was having one problem after another trying to get the application back to me--couldnt figure out how to attach it to an email and then the scan was too small so I couldnt read it when I tried to enlarge it (tried this on multiple occasions). She finally faxed it to Pat at work who brought it home for me to retype in an application that the volunteer would be able to read. I kept asking this volunteer to be patient, that I wanted to give this family to her. Turns out, they are from the same home town. This soldiers father used to work for the volunteer in the 80s. She knew his grandfather and remembered the soldier as a baby!! Talk about a small world!! They live in totally different cities but both emailed the same organization at the same time. Ive received emails from both sides saying how excited they are, thanking me, and how they feel God was at work to bring them together. I could have made it easy and just assigned her the next family on the list but something in me kept up with matching them together. A higher power must have been at work. This made my day!!
