To many of us old folks, it seems as if everything just changed overnight. Almost everything is wireless, remote or automatic. Even in some instances, voice activated. No more knobs, dials and switches, no more getting out of your car in the rain and cold to open your garage door. You don’t even have to leave your easy chair or call the wife from the kitchen to change the television. I’ll have to admit, the older I get, the more I appreciate easy but sometimes things can go too far. For instance, what’s up with these touch screens? I don’t even know how they do that and it’s not always a good thing. Just this morning I was wiping the dust off the screen on my device and I accidently ordered a dozen pairs of high heeled tap dancing shoes and a tutu. When I tried to cancel the order, they told me that all sales were final. And they’re not even my size. I could have a yard sale but I’m afraid my neighbors might think it a mite queer. (no pun intended) At least we can still get away from it for a while, tonight, the sisters and I will shuffle, deal and play Rook the same way it’s been done since Noah’s day.
