To me, the dysfunctional system is very much like an abusive partner. And what is the one thing that will terrify, enrage, and infuriate that partner the most? When that victim begins to find their own voice, outgrows the relationship, attempts to resist or dismiss that partner. At what point is it most dangerous and critical for the safety of the victim? When that abusive partner begins to realize that their tactics are no longer effective, useful, or relevant - when they begin losing their power and control. #LandofTheFree
