To much dismay, Marvels NOT looking at actor Terry Crews for the role of Marvels LUKE CAGE! The series will be the third in Marvels Netflix line-up, leading to a six-episode team-up mini-series, Marvels THE DEFENDERS, thatll see the characters of Marvels DAREDEVIL, JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, & Marvels IRON FIST team-up! But, before he gets his own show, it looks like the plans are STILL in motion to give Luke some limelight in Marvels JESSICA JONES series! Reportedly, actors Lance Gross and Mike Colter are up for the role, where they will appear in 6 to 7 episodes, of 13, in Marvels Jessica Jones before getting their own show, presumably, the following year. Both actors actually do seem to be good candidates for the role. Its not clear who is more sought after, yet, but we should find out, soon. Its not clear how many shows a year we can expect, but with the casting information coming out, NOW, it seems Marvel might be shooting for two a year. Marvels DAREDEVIL has finished filming, already, and is slated to hit Netflix in May of 2015. They could be getting ready to start filming the show sometime this winter for a later 2015 airdate that hasnt been revealed, yet. In the comics, Luke Cage, otherwise known as former gang member Carl Lucas, was framed by his best friend for getting too close to his girlfriend. In prison, Luke was tested on with an experimental Super Soldier Serum that gave him rock-hard skin and super-strength. After breaking out, he decided to make his life straight by becoming a hero with his newfound powers. He started-up the company Heroes for Hire, which also included Iron Fist. All five shows WILL be set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes Marvels Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvels The Avengers franchises, along with ABC TV shows Marvels Agents of SHIELD and Marvels Agent Carter. The shows, though, will explore a much darker side of the universe, compared to what he have become accustomed to. Ill keep everyone posted...
