To my American Neighbours; It is time for the US Leaders to act like – well – like Leaders. This political standoff, and have no doubt, that is exactly what this idiotic event is, makes your country look much less than the global leader it is. The American people need to tell your elected representatives – in no uncertain terms – to rise above the stupid political wrangling and get on with doing their job! This has gone on long enough. It never should have happened in the first place. A country that prides itself on being a world-wide leader in virtually every respect must, and I mean *must*, stop this impasse and get on with doing the job your country’s leaders are tasked with. No more “Democrat this,” “Republican that,” and “Tea Party the other thing.” You are first and foremost (I hope) “American.” Get over it and get on with your job. Please understand, I do not blame the citizens of the United States for this. I am sure most of you are as sick and tired of the political finger-pointing as is the rest of the world. Let your elected representatives know you are being watched – very, very closely! Every day, indeed, every hour this drags on, your position in the global community erodes.
