To my British friends (I hope you dont mind me sharing this Ann Stevens) - this is Lake Erie at Port Stanley, Ontario, which is just a few minutes south of us. This massive lake is about 240 miles long and 57 miles at its widest point. It is, of course, fresh water, not salt, so it freezes, and in this video you can see the ice building up where the camera-man (or woman) is standing. Eventually, this ice which is made up of the water spray, will freeze and this ice will spread from the shore into the lake. Last year, the cold weather lasted so long that the lake was frozen right across to Cleveland, Ohio!
