To my Facebook family, before posting the sermon title tonight, I must say thank you to each of you for showing so much love. I had extensive tests this week, and was to return on Friday to get results, and figure out a course of action as to how to treat Hyperthroidism, The doctor pulled up the results and to his surprise (and Mine) the test showed that even though I was at the high end of normal, The thyroid was normal. I had exhibited all the symptoms but through your prayers, God had worked a miracle. PRAISE GOD. eventhough I am not up to full strength, God is restoring me. Tomorrow, I plan to preach from the subject ANGER OUT OF CONTROL.With all the atten on Ferguson, Mo. this week, we had all kind of anger shown from all sides. The cop had to show anger out of control, anytime an officer shoots a young Black man six times while he has his hands up ready to surrender, that cop was out of control, the city of Fergusons attempt to protect the officer with half truths and the fact that they left Mike Bowns body to lie in the streets for hours for his loved ones to see, was considered as the height of disrespect, the residents were angry, and then the police chief used 1960s tactics with riot gear, and rubber bulets, all of this was a blatant show of Anger out of control by everone. We all can learn a lesson from this experience and that is the fact that we can be just as effective in protest that we learn how to control our anger as Dr Martin L. King was able to lead a movement that changed the United States forever as he taught us non-violence. I recognize the fact that anger control is hard to do when we have issues like these, we are still under the directives of the Bible that teaches that we can be angry but not sin. Ephesians chapter says let not the sun go down on your wrath. Anger is a neutral emotion, when you get angry anger awaits instructions It is like an automobile, when you start it up, it is in neutral and awaiting your orders to either go forward or backward, When you choose to curse, fight, or shoot, it is anger out of control, suggestions : 1) Dont ever allow your anger to cause to lose control and cause injury, death, or years in jail. 2) look at the consequences you could face if you to allow your anger to go out of control, and 3) be determined to work to resolve the unresolved issues that still cause you to be angry years later and that can ruin your hapiness in life. Ask the savior to help you, comfort strengthen and keep you, he is able to help you, Jesus will carry you through. May your walk with the Lord be blessed.
