To my Fire Dept Brothers and Sisters, Recently I have been dealing with some medical issues involving my liver. I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacks the bile ducts in my liver called PSC (long name). Recently I was hospitalized due to a liver infection and a biopsy revealed that I have cancer in my bile ducts. I have been referred to the mayo clinic in Jacksonville for treatment and possible liver transplant. My first appointment is this Tuesday and I will be there for an undetermined amount of time. I consider this a strange forum to share such news, but I wanted everyone that uses this group to receive the accurate information from me personally. Obviously this is leading up to me asking for help from anyone that is able to help cover my shifts for the foreseeable future. I greatly appreciate the future help and support. Seeing our great Fire Dept rally around a brother in need is incredible. Two of my great friends are coordinating my EOT schedule.
