To my Hawthorn Band Colleagues and my friends. It was an honour to s...it on the contest stage with you last evening. To be part of the bands resurgence;to be part of Waynes team;to be in amongst so much youthful vibrance enthusiasm and untapped potential is such a thrill for me. Dont loose heart with one unfavourable result team. We have so many friends from other bands willing us back to the top, amongst them many of the Darebin Preston team. The comments I have had back from NZ have been fantastic and so encouraging. I am passionate about two bands in this world.The only other band I love as much as Hawthorn is Woolston in NZ. Their moto is Tohea Kia Kaha which means Persevere so we stay strong My message to you is simple. Stick with Wayne, his plan is working and hes got so much respect in the banding world that has promoted respect for us as well. Stick together as a team and do what we do incredibly well, work hard and attend rehearsals in big numbers. But above all,trust each other,back each other up and stay positive so our morale will remain high. I cant wait for Sydney and the Nationals. BRING IT ON!!!!
