To my PAWS family, I so deeply appreciate you prayers. As I read them to Dennis he is so overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers that have now become family. Your love and support across the miles have been felt from both of us. Your prayers for healing are in the works. Dennis already has bad lungs, so any little illness sets him back. They will keep him until the infection is cleared (pneumonia). The problem he is facing is his oxygen level; they are trying to get it up to at least 89 but it drops to low 70s with any kind of excursion or movement. It appears that his slurred speech and shuffling of feet and legs (not being able to walk) may have been a combination of flu turning into pneumonia and perhaps not enough oxygen to the brain may be contributing factors to cause this and his confusion/disorientation. Also taking over the counter meds, mixed with his regular meds and the fever all may have played a part in this. As usually he is letting the nurses and aids give him room service all day, I am sure they will need the break when he is released. Thanks to each one of you from the bottom and top of my heart. You are so special to me!
