To my dearest mother, I am wishing you the happiest of birthdays today. You are with me every day of my life. You are with me when I am trudging up the Williamsburg bridge riding my bike on the way to Lincoln center. I thank you at the top every time. You are with me when I get on a plane to travel, you know I hate to fly! You whisper to me and calm me when I am nervous in an elevator or a subway crowded with tons of people. When I am about to loose my patience. You always calm me down and inspire me to take a deep breath and take in whats around me and to teach what I have learned. And instead of getting frustrated and impatient with something you guide me and tell me to stop, look and give back what you have been so fortunate to have been taught by your teachers. I try to do that. I take what you taught me, and I try to give back what you gave me. There is not a day that I dont think about you. I could say that a million times. I remember we would talk every night on the phone and we would laugh and cry. I would tell you I love you, and you would make me feel safe and secure after an hour or so. You still do mother. You are a saint. I told you that once and you laughed. I meant it and I still do. You are my angel and I miss you. But I have you here in my heart and soul. Everything I do. Everything I create. Every breath I take is for you. I miss holding your hand and kissing your beautiful cheek. It is a lovely day here in Canada today. The sun is shining. I will walk in beauty for you today, and every day, thinking of you. Happy birthday. Love from your son Jock. Xoxo
