To my fellow Armenians: I am extremely touched to see, for the first in a long time, so many thousands of Armenians united in one voice in support of our brothers in and sisters in Kessab, with the very successful #savekessab campaign. Now, why is it that we have to wait for our people to be killed and displaced for us to come together and unite? How about the rest of the time? And dont get me wrong, I am in full support of our brothers and sisters in Syria, and I pray that God will intervene and save us from the Evil.. but please dont expect any major intervention or protection from the Obama administration. Going against Turkey DOES NOT SERVE this Administration, we need Turkey for our Military bases, and there is no way America will change its policy. Think about Rwanda in 1994.Over 1,000,000 people were killed in that Genocide. What did Bill Clinton? Nothing. Why? Because there is nothing in Rwanda for America. Whats in Kessab for America? Nothing. It is the reality of the world. It is good to create awareness, but I would use caution about expecting anything from Washington or the world. The best way to help right now is to donate to Organizations that are physically helping the displaced with food, housing and clothing. May God hear our prayers.
