To my fellow music lovers: Lately theres been an increase of you talking about the state of music today. For the most part, ur right: music has changed today, but if u havent noticed, its been changing...some revolutionary, since the 50s...maybe before that but the impact of Rock and Roll comes to mind as a drastic change from jazz and blues before it. Whole other topic :) Everybody is entitled to their own opinion...I have expressed mine as well. But the main complaints Im hearing are that there is no good music out there and the fact our legends arent releasing music as they should. Well...those arent facts...folk tell me all the time that because I either know or have met these legends I am in the know...but YOU ARE TOO. Lots of you have the same mutual friends as I do...and probably not the same Internet provider but yall possess Bing, Google, etc when u get on the Internet. Todays legends are still doing shows and still releasing music. Now to you purists, I am one too...but I would remain open minded when u check out our legends new material and shows. Ive been to plenty and I may not either have been around or too young to go to their shows in their heyday but these legends do put on an awesome show and release good music. Its because of our support they can make these things happen. If ur friends on FB, for the most part u can hit them up as to when they r coming to your town or when are they releasing new music. Check their fan pages and/or websites. Support our legends if ur not into the new music thats out. Most of these legends arent signed to major labels anymore but they r doing their own thing and YOU have the connections just like me to keep up on their new projects. Dont wait until they r gone to do tributes and support them. Thats like buying flowers for a funeral. Also there are PLENTY of independent artists doing their own thing too with HUGE fan bases. Ive posted some on my pages. They r producing and putting out good music...if not BETTER than some of these new artists on major labels with major production teams. Go to their shows...some of these shows are cheap or free and the shows are WAY better than the $300 on average tickets for major artists. Buy their music...many Internet online stations play their stuff all the time but YOU have to use ur Internet as your main resource...or u can hit me up LOL Just saying...lets curb our anger and complaints and support those doing real things.
