To my friend my mentor my second mom. You took in a defensive angry wiley young girl and thru your love, understanding,patience and kindness brought out the best in me. Every time I foal out a mare i miss how we would go and have toast and a cup of tea to celebrate. I will miss the planning of the futures of your horses and how we could talk for hours on end never bored of each others thoughts.How you could be talking and i could interrupt and youd jump in with your thoughts building and building the conversation like building a building from the ground up. Our endless Chinese lunches.For your belief in me and how you encouraged me to show your horses and the success we had.How you introduced me with pride to all the trainers and important people of our breed. How you allowed me to be a part of your family.The gentleness of your spirit will live on and i will miss you always. My heart breaks to know you are gone but I know Bud has been patiently waiting for you along with Gracie and Sophia and Benraz. God Speed. RIP Lorraine Soltau.
