To my friends and family: I had to experience something no parent should. The following post is what I sent to the local Fox News. Im Will NOT just let this go. Hello. I am a resident in Cape Coral. I am a single mother to a 5 yr old. He attends Littleton Elementary school in North Ft Myers. Today, my child was dropped off at the bus stop ALONE. He is NOT a bus rider. He attends the after school program and only rides the bus when its written in his daily planner. I received a phone call at work from the after school program at my childs school stating he had somehow gotten on the bus and another parent at a different school spotted him and alerted that there was a child on the property before school let out. When I asked how my child could have possibly ended up on the bus, they stated there was a subsitute teacher that day...as if that was an excuse!!!!!! I have yet to receive any follow up phone calls regarding my childs safety or any sort of apology regarding the situation. Im more than furious and will be going to the school first thing in the morning to find out what is going to be done. My child was endangered due to negligence on their end. Maybe this interests you enough to reach out to me and possibly help save someone elses child from being left alone, at 5 years old, on the side of the street. We put our trust into the bus company to care for our children while they are in transit to and from school. What happened today is highly unacceptable.
