To my friends who are historians, librarians, teachers, or just film junkies: Im trying to decide whether to keep using the same three films I always use in my Pre-Civil War US History Survey, or perhaps try some different ones. Currently, I show Black Robe, The Patriot, and Glory. All of those movies are now at least 20 years old. A few times, I have tried The Alamo (2004 version) instead of Glory to give more attention to events in the West. But that film is 2 hrs, 17 min long and really not that great as a teaching tool. Does anyone have suggestions for other films?
