Establishing a Climate School in my home town of Narvik, Norway, is important to me. Hopefully this post may inspire some of you to do something similar. Do tell me if you need more information. Climate School in Narvik. It is a pleasure to announce, that everything is now ready for the start of a local “Climate School” in Narvik. The Climate School is introduced like this: THE THREAT, THE SOLUTIONS, AND HOW EVERYONE CAN CONTRIBUTE A studying circle about the biggest challenge weve ever faced. The studying Circle led by Hans Joergen Rasmussen, Psychologist, Climate Activist, Board member in Friends of the Earth, Narvik, and a very experienced teacher. Have you ever wondered about any of this: - The severity of the climate threat ? - The urgency of doing something about it globally? - What will happen if we do not act now? - Why politicians and other key decision-makers are not more engaged in this? - Whether the denialists are right? - Whether the climate threat is man-made? - Whether there may be a correlation between population growth, consumption patterns and climate change? - Drought in California - melting glaciers and Arctic ice - many extreme weather events - can that be attributed to climate change? - Is global water- and / or food shortages a possibility - and may it be related to Climate Change? - Whether this will have consequences for us or only for future generations? - What is needed to solve the problems? - Do we still have time?- Can we afford it? – What is the alternative?
