To my little sister Jineane, I dont know when or if you will see this but I hope you do. All I want to do is wish you a happy birthday for today and for the past 10 years I havent been allowed to see you. All I have ever wanted is for you to be happy, feel loved and know that you are never alone. Some day I hope to be part of your life again. I want to tell you a few of the things that I remember. When I was 10 years old I wanted a little sister. So I took it up with God and asked, often, even during prayer requests at school for God to give me a little sister. You were born that year. I didnt know until 2 years later at which point I promised myself I would always be there for you, especially every year on your birthday because I felt bad about missing the first 2 years of your life. The first time I met you, you were 2 and passed out in your car seat. Grandma Dolores took us to see the Nutcracker. You were actually scared of me at first because you had no idea who I was. By the time I had to go home, you didnt want me to leave. The first time I spent the night at your house, not long after the Nutcracker, I shared a room with you and you were so excited that you kept me up forever talking. I think it was sometime during the fall of 2003, We were at Grandmas and the 3 of us You, me and Josh got in a dispute about whether or not Santa was real. I had never believed in Santa and both of you did. It was really Josh and me going back and forth about it and you hugging me and saying that you were on Amys side but that Santa was real. The last time I saw you, you were in kindergarten so proud of yourself that you could read and write. I had always planned to tell you that youre the little sister that I asked God for as a child. Happy sweet 16 baby sister - be happy, be safe, and know you have always been and will be the person I love most in the world and I have never forgotten you.
