To my non Arab friends, Id like to apologize. Im sure my Facebook had been both of aggression and confusion over the past couple of weeks. The reason is Im an Iraqi, who lived in Syria for the better part of a decade with Palestinian family members. So my immediate family and very close friends are suffering in Iraq, Syria, and Palestine. The problem is that the media is scaring those willing to care from taking even a verbal stand. And the same media machine that distorted the Iraqi resistance during 2003- 2005 is focused almost exclusively on any unverified story with the word ISIS in it to give the impression its either we must accept ISIS, or our corrupt governments in the Arab region. The truth however is that the US and Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are fighting a war by proxy in my familys back yard. And we just want to live in peace. Many of us protested and revolted, but the powers that be keep funding and arming our oppressors. Which is very frustrating. Please forgive me for any inconvenience in your timelines, but this is the last public arena to spread the truth.
