To quote from the feature story: For the 2014 Filipino Footwear Design Competition, Gerome Sta. Maria of Marikina City, a Bachelor in Fine Arts graduate from the University of the Philippines-Diliman won this year’s shoe-design contest with his entry “Rebel,” inspired by a free spirit and made with a combination of leather, metal and beads. He also captured 2nd place with his “Beach Princess” entry made of beads, wood, fabric. Sta. Maria will represent the Philippines at the international footwear competition to be held in Guangzhou, China later this year.
